Young lad Anmol Parnami who is presently seen in Colors’ Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi exhibits a vibrant and colourful spark that speaks volumes about his talent. The show on Colors by Balaji Telefilms has Anmol playing the notorious Devarsh who keeps everyone in a happy mood.

Talking about his journey he shares, “Being from Jaipur I had always wanted to get into acting. My parents have been very supportive during my childhood, but when I decided to move to Delhi to get into NSD, I think they developed cold feet and were a bit apprehensive. Not wanting to disappoint them I joined my business and for four years, I worked there never being happy.”

“I later joined theatre where I could work on my creativity and soon also bagged a Rajasthani show. The show got great response and suddenly one day my parents came up to me and told me that I can go to Mumbai. You won’t believe, in 15 minutes I got my bag packed lest they change their plans (laughs) and thus started my struggle here in Mumbai,” Anmol adds.

In Mumbai, like every newcomer, he too faced quite a lot of disappointment. “I have been through almost 300 auditions and in most of them I would be shortlisted but never finalised. Although all of that left me disheartened, it also gave me hope that I was good and can make it with my consistent persistence.”

“I had given auditions for Balaji’s Kyunki… 2, but with the show not seeing the light, they called me for this show. I then had to give three other auditions to finally see this place. I was also told that Ekta maam (Kapoor) herself saw my audition tapes and chose me for this character. And today my family is so proud seeing me being part of such a wonderful show,” says Anmol.

Ask him whether he did not want to get into TV with a lead role, and he quips, “This is also a major role and although it is a grey shaded character it has lots of positivity in it. I also feel that a grey shade/negative character will always leave its mark and I too want people to remember me for this role,” he replies.

So is he enjoying the starry times? “(Laughs) Not really yaar. People haven’t been recognizing me all around. It’s still just a few and I am happy that way. I don’t want things to change all of a sudden but want to enjoy my success gradually. But overall it’s all fun,” Anmol smiles.

And finally when we ask him about his off screen bond, the young guy avers, “I really bond well with Radhika (Madan) and Shakti (Arora). Actually everyone on the set is very friendly and warm. Also since I am quite naughty like my character, I enjoy my time with people.”

Way to go Anmol!!
