Was there ever any kind of inclination towards cricket? “Well, I was never much engrossed into watching cricket but post Indian Premier League, I started watching cricket. I love Shah Rukh Khan so I only used to watch for his team Kolkata Knight Riders. Many of my friends used to cheer for Mumbai and I used to cheer for KKR; we actually used to fight and argue as to who will win. And when this whole concept of BCL came out, I was not into playing cricket. Since I am an over enthusiastic woman, I can motivate everyone to go ahead and play well. I could not really play during the pilot season of BCL due to my shoots but I was there throughout with my team, pushing them hard to play well and motivating.”

What according to you is the USP of your team? “All of them treat me like a boy only by now. Now that BCL has gone bigger and greater, we will have more fun. All of our friends were in the same team but now all our friends have dispersed to other teams. We have the right kind of TV faces who are very popular amidst the masses. That is the whole idea of BCL – actors who are good looking, who are glamorous, who can play cricket. This really works in our favour.”

When asked about playing galli cricket as a kid, she averred, “A lot of boys used to play cricket outside my lane but I was never a part of galli cricket.”

Well Kishwer, with BCL, you have added one more feather to your cap!
