After winning over audiences with his performance on the small screen, actor Jai Kalra is planning to work in films next year. But this will not be the first big screen outing for Jay, as he has already made appearances along with Konkona Sen Sharma and Boman Irani in the National Award winning film Page 3.

Jai, who is currently shooting for his serial Laut Aao Trisha, (24 Frames Production) on Life OK, told us recently, “I am planning to work in films next year. Currently I am busy with my show, but I would like to take some time out and do some film projects in the coming year.”

“I don’t want to appear in a two to three minutes role in a film. Having said this, rather than doing any role in films, I would prefer to work on television as the lead. I will start approaching people the minute I decide to take a break,” added the actor.

Talking about the characters he has played on screen, he said that personally his character in Bade Acche Lagte Hain (Balaji Telefilms) is close to his heart. “As an actor, all the characters that I have done so far are very special to me and I have done them as I was really interested in those characters. But personally the character of Vikram is close to me as the character was just the way I am in real life.”

Talking about Laut Aao Trisha, which has much bold content, the actor rightly said, “This is not the first time that a show is trying out with too many bold topics, as many other television shows have earlier focussed on such issues. What makes this show very different is that it’s featuring the vulnerable sides of a relationship, how families are not always that happy and cheerful as it is shown to be”.

The actor seems to be happy with his show and feels that new secrets which are getting revealed everyday are making the show even more interesting.

We wish the actor all the luck with his show and film.
