Mohsin Khan, the young lad who has recently entered Star Plus’ Nisha Aur Uske Cousins as the NRI brother of Dolly’s would-be-groom is excited about his role in the show.

The guy who is an engineer chose to follow his dream of becoming an actor. Says Mohsin, “I was initially a model, and have worked in quite a lot of commercial ads.”

But it was as an Assistant Director that Mohsin got his first big break. He was the second Assistant Director in the movie Koyelaanchal.

“Koyelaanchal was a major experience in my career. I was part of the movie from its start to the end. I learnt quite a lot about acting too. And this phase actually prompted me to stay in the field, but as an actor.”

On TV, Nisha Aur Uske Cousins was supposed to be his debut vehicle. But since the show’s launch got delayed, he took up a cameo role in Balaji Telefilms’ Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi in which he played the role of Romil, brother-in-law to the female lead.

“I have played an NRI in many of my TV outings. In an episodic I shot earlier, I played an NRI guy. In Meri Aashiqui too, Romil was settled abroad. And now in Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, my character of Ritesh is a charming young NRI who has come to be part of his cousin Sumit’s wedding. The sequences involving Ritesh and the entire family of Nisha (Aneri Vajani) will be very interesting. Everyone will try to hook him with their daughter since they find me good-looking and nice,” stated the actor.

So how will the track proceed? “Nisha’s dadaji will want Nisha to get married to Ritesh. And he will do his best to make this marriage happen. The track ahead will be very interesting.”

Mohsin feels his Casting Consultant Rupesh Sonar has been very lucky for him. “Rupesh is a good friend, and I know him for sometime now. He was the one who put me into an audtion for Romil’s character, and the same holds good for the character of Ritesh. The best part is that I ended up getting both the roles.”

So what are plans for the future? “My goal is to learn everyday as an actor. I want to keep trying challenging stuff. I have just started, and have a long road to travel.”

We wish you luck, Mohsin!!
